Guy Jones

Guy E Jones Jr.'s journey on this earth ended April 15th, 2015 after a brief, but very courageous battle with Kidney Cancer and Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. Born on March 31, 1942 to Guy and Billie Jones of Oklahoma City, Guy was a 1960 graduate of Harding High School and 34 years later a proud graduate of UCO in Edmond OK. Guys varied career lead him and his family down several different paths and to several states, from working with Martin Marietta in Louisiana, to NASA in Orlando Florida and eventually back home to Oklahoma City where he enjoyed working outside sales for Sam's Club. Regardless of his position or where he worked, he was always well respected and took pride in his work. Having lived the last 9 years in Sallisaw OK, Guy and Barbara just recently moved back to El Reno to be closer to their children and grand-children. For as much as Guy loved his Sooners and the OKC Thunder, watching his kids and grandkids and their sports was something he loved even more. While living in Sallisaw, Guy found a love for woodworking and turned this love into a small business, "Twigs and Branches" for him, woodworking was more of a ministry and his love for giving to others and serving his Lord showed in his work. Guy was a devout Christian, strong and deep in his faith journey. He was an active member, and proudly served as a lay speaker for his church The First United Methodist Church in Sallisaw. Guy is preceded in death by his parents Guy Sr. and Billie, by his cousin Pam who he loved dearly and thought more of like his sister and by his cousin Sam Survivors include, his wife of over 40 years, Barbara, his 3 children and spouses, Bryon Jones and LeAnn of El Reno, Leigh Jones-Baker and Brian of Edmond, Amy L Dixon and Trey, also of Edmond. His 9 grandchildren, Lindsey, Katelyn, Macie, Zachary, Reagan , Craig, Luke, Erin and Ethan; his 2 great-grandchildren Paisley and Marlee; his niece Brooke Kasper and husband Rolf, of Plano TX, and nephew Ty Boydstun of Hot Springs AR. There is no way to list all the dear friends and lives he touched but lifelong friends Warren and Sharon Riggs of El Reno and James and Patricia of Sallisaw will always be very special friends. Services for Guy will be held at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, Thursday, April 23, 2015 at 10am. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in his name to the Integris Hospice House.
