What some may not know is that Philip was a very gifted pianist.  He and his sister took piano lissons from the same teacher I had.  They were both phenomenal.  Of course, we all know how very intelligent he was.  It sounds as if he had an outstanding career as well.

I followed Philip as Editor of The Marionette. Clearly that was a few steps backward. 😂 He was so nice and so incredibly smart. I was honored to work with him. I do remember his friendship with Gloria.

Philip was a close friend in high school. Although he didn't tout his many talents, he never failed to support fellow students. I was very fortunate to have known him.

I am so sorry to hear about Philip.  He always amazed me in Mrs. Wiser's class how he could always find such deep meaning in poems and books we were studying.  He was just brilliant and  such a nice person.  I thought his picture was just wonderful.  Ruthie Darrough Johnston

Seems like the bright ladies of the class of 60 have commented on their affection for Philip Erdberg.  I will chime in from the male side.  Out of a class blessed with many exceptionally bright people (see "Whiz Kids" on p 72 of our 60 Aquila), Philip may have been the brightest bulb of them all.  Due perhaps to alphabetical seating, I had the pleasure of sitting next to him in several classes, most notably Mrs. Wiser's 12th grade English Literature Class.  Just trying to stay somewhere in his academic level gave me some advantages lasting the rest of my life.  I asked Philip to read my English Lit term paper.  He didn't think much of it.  Mrs. Wiser gave it an A.  Philip just smiled and shook his head...

So he became an internationally recognized expert in personality assessment.  I think he had the rest of us figured out 60 years ago.
