Bill Boatmun

Bill Newell Boatmun (a.k.a. Bill McIntosh), 72, died at Stillwater Medical Center in Oklahoma on Saturday, Aug. 9, 2014, after a brief illness. He leaves his beloved wife of 32 years, Wanda (Hogue) Boatmun, his benevolent heart, positive spirit and infectious humor touched the hearts of all who knew him.

Bill was born Oct. 24, 1942, in Oklahoma City. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1959 to 1962, receiving a Good Conduct Medal in 1960 in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. He received a degree in architectural engineering from Oklahoma State University in 1968. After graduation he moved to Albuquerque, N.M., and worked as an engineer for Sandia National Laboratories (1968-1997). After retirement he moved to Stillwater, Okla., to be closer to his children and grandchildren. On Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2014, he will be laid to rest in the Combs/McIntosh Cemetery.
