In Memory

Susie Maxwell (Goodwin)

On Wednesday, March 10th, Suzanne (Susie) Kay Goodwin of Zionsville, IN – a loving wife, mother and beloved grandmother – passed away at the age of 78. Suzanne was born in Oklahoma City, OK, but spent most of her young years in Champaign, IL. She attended Indiana University, was a member of Alpha Chi Omega sorority and received her Master’s in Education. Susie spent 10 years as an elementary school teacher where she thrived in bringing joy to young lives. She met her husband, George Randall Goodwin, while teaching in the Speedway School System in 1966, and married in June of 1971. Susie’s most treasured accomplishment is her family. Susie is survived by her husband, George Randall Goodwin, and two daughters, Tara Lynn Nebel (husband Matthew Nebel, children Maddox, Brodie, Easton, and Isabella) and Jennifer Rae Paterno (husband Craig Paterno, children Drew, Delaney, and Natalie). Suzanne was the daughter of Benjamin Maxwell and Bernice (Jokisch) Maxwell, and the youngest of two sisters, the oldest being Kenlynne Newell of Dallas, TX. We will be honoring her life at Crown Hill Funeral Home on Monday, March 15th with viewing starting at 10 am followed by a memorial service @ Noon. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Lung Association in her honor.
