After graduating from Harding, I attended Oklahoma University majoring in English and Business. I pledged Alpha Chi Omega sorority along with Kay Hickman and Cathy Bidack. After two years I went out into the cruel world and worked for Oklahoma Gas and Electric before moving to Kansas where I met, married and moved to a farm we bought that was 10 miles from the nearest town with 1500 population. Quite the lifestyle change but a wonderful experience. Both my children, Saundra and Patrick, were born there and we moved to Rapid City, South Dakota when they were in grade school. They graduated in Rapid City and continue to live here with families of their own. I have four fantastic (of course) grandchildren and am enjoying being "back home" after a brief absence of 20+ years in Texas. Over the years, I have pursued many different interests with art being one of the most rewarding of all. I owned a china painting business and was commissioned by Mt. Rushmore for several projects as well as teaching and selling to the general public. After selling the business, I have continued painting in mainly watercolor and acrylic. Outdoor activities include golf and gardening and became a Texas Master Gardener before returning to SD. Seems like it took such a long time to get through those first 18 years and now here we are.............50 year later! WOW!!!
Many great memories of friends and activities during the Harding years. I remember Ms. Morrison making us memorize all the presidents in order and if I'm ever on a game show and they ask who the 15th president of the U.S. was, I can still answer if given enough time to count. Besides all the learning experiences in school, the time spent outside the classroom were educational as well. Did anyone else drive behind the Thunderbird Inn and put a quarter in the beer machine and enjoy the excitement of "getting away" with underage purchase of alcohol? We thought we were so brave and the fear factor of getting caught was
more thrilling than actually drinking the beverage.
So mild by today's standards.

If anyone knows anything about Susie Wilson Bull, I would love to connect with her. I have tried for a long time but have been unable to find out anything about her. We were very good friends in highschool and shared some wonderful memories. Thanks to anyone who can help me with this request.
So interesting about your simile regarding our sand castles washing away at high tide. I do remember Lee Paramore dance class next to Hyde Drug. Seems we were televised with the wigs and all the pomp and circumstance. I worked at Hyde Drug wrapping packages, etc. Charlie was a really good guy and a friend to me and many of my friends. He started a baseball team in later years and asked my brother to play on his team. Jody remembers him as a friend and good athlete. Appreciate your comments.
I'm so sorry to see that Steve has passed. Steve was a great guy and he and I were very close friends during those Harding years. I've thought of him often over the years and so happy to know he had a loving family that he so well desserved.
Thanks Sam for posting this message fom one of his daughters. If there is an obituary for him I would like to know. The last I heard about him was that he was living in Wyoming and that was a very long time ago. Condolences to his family. I'm sure he will be greatly missed.

Hi Kay. Wish I could have attended our reunion and reconnect with everyone. I'm sure it was such fun seeing everyone. I want to wish you a very happy, late birthday and I didn't know that Dan was deceased. So sorry to know about that. I too have four grandchildren. Two live here in Rapid City and one lives in Phoenix with the other one living in Kauai. So much fun to have them here a couple of times a year! Would like to be closer to our classmates in OKC but just not meant to be. Good to keep in touch through our Classmates connection!
My condolences to John's family. John was a friend, neighbor and always a genuinely good guy. He will be missed by everyone who knew him in our class of 60 as well as many others throughout his life. He has been the glue that has kept our class together through his unselfish time given to our reunions and general information. My last conversation with him was such fun regarding who lived where in our neighborhood. His memory was SO much better than mine!!!
