LeeAnn Overton (Shaver)

Lee Ann Shaver passed away at her home Sunday, Feb. 15, 1986, at the age of 43. She was a graduate of Harding High School and of OU.

She taught in OKC public schools for several years. At the time of her death she was employed as a supervisor in the properties dept. of Tenneco Oil Co., where her fellow employees had grown to love and respect her, both for her warmth and understanding as a friend, as well as her outstanding capabilities.

Mrs. Shaver had been active for a number of years with the March of Dimes program in this area, and her voluntary dedication of time and interest to this cause will always be remembered by those who worked with her.

She is survived by 2 sons, Gregory and Jeffrey Shaver of OKC; mother, Mrs. Lysbeth Parrish and step-father, Dr. R. Gibson Parrish, both of Glenwood Springs CO; uncle and aunt, Ralph and Glenna Lee of Santa Fe N.M.; cousins, Patricia Seek and R. David Lee of Houston TX.

Memorial services were held on Tuesday, Feb. 18, at All Souls Episcopal Church, 63rd & Pennsylvania, Father Robert Shaw officiating. Burial followed at Memorial Park Cemetery.

(Lee Ann Overton Shaver died of breast cancer.)

Lee Ann Overton was a good friend and we spent many hours at her country club swimming, sunning and playing cards ... she was beautiful, intelligent (top 10% in the country on SAT scores) and very mature for her age. Her mother was exotic and beautiful and LeeAnn held the promise of being a classic beauty if she hadn't been taken so soon. We lost contact after Harding but I hope she had a grand time while she was here.

Lee Ann is a wonderful memory; she was my first girlfriend in 1954. We would meet at the Will Rogers, sit together, hold hands and share popcorn. Truly a first adventure for both of us, we remained friends through our school years.
